Information About Your Complaint
The OIG investigates the management and operation of state agencies to determine if there has been fraud, waste, mismanagement, corruption, or other abuse of resources that harms the public interest. This includes acts or omissions at or of any office, department, board, commission, committee, school district, and all public bodies created by the Delaware Constitution or by an act of the General Assembly, as well as the General Assembly in regard to its management of governmental resources and routine administrative expenses. We cannot investigation allegations related to a county or municipality, a court, or the General Assembly in regard to its legislative functions or disciplinary authority under Delaware law.
The OIG also investigates retaliation against whistleblowers. We cannot, however, investigate complaints from employees that relate to their employment relationship with a state agency, unless the complaint is directly related to fraud, waste, mismanagement, corruption, or any other abuse of government resources that harms the public interest. Other complaints related to employment relationships with state agencies should be referred to the Delaware Department of Labor.
